8-Week Program for prek-2

This 8-week program focuses on literacy development through a blend of individual and small group lessons, multisensory instruction, social-emotional skills, and hands-on activities, like gardening, Lego-building, and art. Taught by Florida Certified Teachers & Literacy Specialists, the Reading Clinic supports early and developing readers, English language learners, and students with dyslexia and other reading disabilities.

Teachers will establish students’ baseline skill level and then identify goals for individualized instruction during Week 1. During Week 8, parents receive reading growth portfolios, which can support student learning portfolios for annual homeschool evaluations. To honor students’ individual needs, registration is limited to six students per session.

- Structured learning at student skill level and current development, with targeted learning goals and progress monitoring

- Mix of targeted individual skill development, group learning based on thematic mini-lessons, and center-based learning

- Multisensory and hands-on learning for engaging all types of learners

Parents will receive a portfolio with documentation to support student learning and demonstrate their growth throughout the 8-week session. This portfolio may be included with documentation for the student’s annual homeschool evaluation.

Week 1: Literacy Evaluation and Student Baseline Report Created

Week 4: Progress Monitoring and Report Shared with Parents

Week 8: Final Progress Report with/ Student Portfolio Provided to Parents After Final Class

• Three 8-Week Sessions in Winter, Spring, and Fall
• Winter Session Begins Monday, January 23, 2023, and meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 9 AM to 12 PM
• Registration is for all 8 weeks - exceptions made on a case by case basis.
